Our Story

Tilden began at Harvard Business School. Tired of swirling sparkling water at cocktail parties, our Founder Mariah set out with classmates to craft the non-alcoholic cocktails she wished existed. 

Mariah Hilton Wood is a lifelong teetotaler from Las Vegas. She has a deep love for hosting and flavor, and spent years at dinner parties, restaurants, and events where the beverage experience was always designed for someone else -- it was a constant disinvitation to the occasion. While she didn't envy the alcohol, she did envy the craft, the pairing, the ritual, the toast.

She took her experience in supply chain and an obsession with ingredients to bring sipping experiences to foodies who don't want the booze. Every recipe is developed in-house with botanical extracts, premium juices, pepper oils, wood teas, and root emulsions. No added sugar, no preservatives, nothing to artificially alter the mind or mood, but a sip that would absolutely elevate the moment.

Today Tilden has won over a dozen industry flavor awards, is poured at Michelin-recognized restaurants and Forbes Five-Star resorts, and sits elegantly on bar carts across the country. Mariah leads the company as Founder & CEO, still doing her favorite things: sourcing incredible ingredients, creating moments of connection, and actually being present at her own parties.

Why we skip the adaptogens

At Tilden, our cocktails are designed to stir the senses – not alter your state of mind.

It’s not that we’re anti-adaptogen – we simply believe a great cocktail doesn’t need to change how you feel. Our drinks are about being fully present, not taking the edge off.

Plus, some adaptogens can interact with medications or aren’t safe during pregnancy, and we want Tilden to be something everyone can enjoy.
